My first Nationals as a referee and it was an honour to be with such an amazingly professional and supportive group. Sunday allowed me to do some coaching and competing (before going back and helping referee the last 5 matches). Individuals was tough vs Master Choi (Australia's 2022 World Championship representative). In pairs and teams I really want to say a huge thankyou to my Teams team mates @dale_bryce from @eclipse_taekwondo, Master Woo from @jinmookma and my pairs team mate @chllo2 from @musataekwondo . All three of them push me to lift my game and I really appreciate it. So pleased with our 6.99 pyongwon in Teams and our #1 placing in pairs. It was really encouraging to see accuracy scores boarding around 3. Huge thanks to @vanphu_tricking for his leadership and coaching of the team and to @yutong.li0530 for holding the fort at Zido Hub in Chatswood On 6 March 2022 we made the trip down to the Shoalhaven to participate in the South Coast Championships.
It was a great event and we came away with some very impressive results including "Most Outstanding Competitor Junior Female" (Jennifer) and "Overall Club Point Score Winner: Poomsae" The journey home took an extra hour thanks to the heavy rain which caused a small landslide, thick fog and temporarily broken down bus but we made it back safe and sound! A big thanks to the parents for their support and food and congratulations to the team! Change to NSG/NSB Tuesday classes (no change to Monday) The timing of NSG’s gym renovation is still a bit of a mystery but as of this week (12 March) Tuesday classes will be separated into the following:
- Meet Melissa and Sarah (Year 11) at at 3.20pm. Change into tkd pants. Meet at the car park outside the office where the school buses line up at 3.20pm. - White belts who are keen to train harder are welcome at the Advanced class 2. Apologies for delay with NSG/NSB gear I am conscious arm/shin guards are still on back order + uniforms for a couple of the girls are still pending. This year's year 7s are taller than previous years + a box of my shin guards has gone missing. 3. Grading Below are this year’s grading dates. We will send out the registration link approx 1 week before grading, students will be able to choose a grading time/day. Gradings cost $55 (Except for Dan gradings) Please check the grading criteria: http://www.chungdotkd.com.au/grading.html 4. Competition
Here’s the competition schedule for 2019, reminder to our students approaching blue belt and above that competition experience (either sparring or poomsae) is a requirement to be eligible to grade for some belt levels.
New rules for sparring competitions in 2017.
In response to criticism of the "foot fencing" style dominating recent competitions, the rules have changed again. As with the introduction of electronic scoring there can be unintended consequences of rule changes but we'really excited to see how things play out! http://www.worldtaekwondofederation.net/taekwondo-competition-rules-altered-to-make-sport-dazzle-and-excite-changes-adopted-at-wtf-general-assembly-in-canada/ |
