At times this year has dragged on but we're rapidly getting to the end of 2020!
We've made some changes to the timetable to help with capacity and simplifying the schedule.
Thanks for continuing to book into class, please keep it up. It's very important that we ensure we stay under the allowed CovidSafe class capacity limits. We do not want to have to turn students away because classes are full and they haven't booked. Changes: Lindfield - no 4-6 year old class. White/yellow/green tip class now starts at 10am Chatswood - many changes. Please check carefully Beacon Hill/Mosman - no changes Manly - we are working to reopen in the next couple of weeks. We'll let you know if successful. Some changes to this week's timetable due to the public holiday and playing with class capacity during the school holidays.
Term 4 timetable is available online, we're currently tossing up whether we keep the 10am Lindfield Fundamentals class or centralise it to Zido Hub Chatswood. Our standard class timetable is still running during the holidays Except the NSG classes, but NSG students are welcome (encouraged) to book into the standard classes We have a couple of holiday programs to offer these school holidays Our collaboration with the Art Factory is back again! And also we have introduced a 4 day program where we'll learn and record a TKD demo routine on the last day! For more info click on the image above Grading results Well done to everyone who completed grading over the last week There are some people who are yet to complete grading but if your name is below congratulations on passing! (This list only covers people who graded at Chatswood) Certificates will be presented in about 2 weeks. Belts/tips will be presented at your next class.

Like most exams, if you're well prepared it'll be easy/not too hard Next grading will be in early December so if you just joined or if you're not ready yet it's ok, the next opportunity is not far away. Heads up - from December we will include Korean terminology Lunch time Mindset & Careers Talks We've put together the careers talks as hinted in our last update. For those who missed it, aside from running Chung Do Taekwondo, Master ZiChuan has also worked in the talent acquisition (recruitment) space for the last 15 years. In this series we're going to cover: - 11th September Mindset with special guest Michael Magee - 18th September Career transitions (incl. transition from study to work) - 25th September Resume writing These will be free but registration is required. To register to attend or to receive the recording later go to: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMkfuivrTIvE9OyTALVkEJNNuGdAHMEg2TP I'm very excited to be able to invite Michael Magee to the first talk. Michael (3rd Dan, previous Aust. representative) and I were both coaches for University of Technology Sydney Taekwondo. Michael is a qualified psychologist who has worked for the NSW Institute of Sport supporting potential Olympic and Paralympic athletes. He currently is a psychologist for the Indigo Project and Player Development Manager for the NSW Waratahs. During this chat I'll be asking Michael some questions about dealing with delays due to Covid19 (e.g. delayed exams, job opportunities, generally everything), staying on target and avoiding burnout in a time where everything is up in the air. It'll be a very informative chat and I'm very grateful that Michael has agreed to share some of his experience with us. NSG move to Chatswood dojang (and related changes) Firstly a big thank you to the 30ish students and their parents for helping us to achieve this. Due to NSW Dept. Education changes the NSG gym became unavailable so we had to organise relocating everyone with less than a week's notice. As a result the NSG team are training at the dojang on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. On Tuesdays we have had to make some changes to the existing 4pm white belt class. A 4pm class still exists but only for students who cannot make any other day. A 5pm white belt class has been added on Tuesdays. The 5.30pm yellow belt (both online and in person) class has moved to 5.45pm New lunch time adults and seniors/low impact classes! We had added 2 new classes on Thursday 11am - Seniors/low impact Taekwondo 12noon - Adults taekwondo Check out the Willoughby Council promo video for the Emerge Festival featuring us :) Hi everyone, We hope you managed to stay dry and warm over the weekend. ActiveKids vouchers A reminder that we are an ActiveKids provider so if you'd like to use the vouchers to cover part of the training fees please email them over. For those on Direct Debit we need to make the required adjustments manually. New timetable Some changes to the timetable come into effect this week. You'll can see the new timetable in the booking system and at the bottom of this update. We have made changes to some class timings to try to spread out students across our more popular times. We have also introduced some new classes
As a 15 year veteran of the recruitment industry I'm planning to share some tips based along with a couple of special guests. Keep an eye open out for more details in the next few days. Covid-19 Update Very eventful couple of weeks on the Covid19 front for all the wrong reasons. From our chats with contacts in Melbourne this second shutdown is not only more severe from a practical point of view it's also more severe from a psychological point of view. Our thoughts go out to Victoria and all the people and businesses affected by Covid19 and the second shutdown. Sydney has been teetering on a knife's edge for the last couple of weeks and as the Premier says we will be on this knife edge for a few more weeks. We are committed to our CovidSafe plan, socially distant training program and encourage everyone to remain vigilant, train online if they are sick and also go to get tested at the first sign of symptoms. Better to get the all clear quickly than to make the health department undertake a massive contact tracing exercise. New Timetable (click image to view online)
Covid19 update
We are watching the evolving Covid19 situation very closely and it is a timely reminder for all of us to remain vigilant. Please train from home and get tested if you have any cold/flu symptoms. Also, please make sure you book into class so that we can monitor class sizes. If the classes are full on the app please use the waitlist so we can inform you if there is still space. According to the 1 person per 4 square meter rule, we can fit approx 22 people in our dojang. However we have set most class size limits to 8 on mat 1 and 6 on mat 2 to ensure we give more space. Locations update Beacon Hill - Saturday 25 July (please contact Master Steve to book attendance). Manly - still no news Mosman - start date pushed back to 6th August (please contact Master Steve to book attendance) - 6 to 8 person limit North Sydney Girls most likely 27th or 28th July still to be confirmed Zido Hub Chatswood - open Lindfield - open Welcome back to Chatswood High School's school sports program today! Timetable tweaks We've had the new timetable for a month now, this has given us some good data to work with. There will be a few more tweaks to the timetable as some classes are very popular and we want to help more people join training. If there's a shutdown again then we will do another Zoom based timetable, depending on what the shutdown rules are. |
